FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Well, it's been over a week since the whirlwind that was Surf N Turf 2008 and I'm still craving for more.

From the detailed organization of getting 16 trucks down to the dunes in a single caravan to the organized chaos that enveloped the night runs, Surf N Turf 2008 proved to be quite an event to remember. In fact, the only thing that would have made it better was banana chocolate chip pancakes on Sunday morning.

Many thanks are in order to everyone who represented NorCal. Every individual contributed in one way or another, whether it was taking photos/videos, preparing/offering meals, rescuing flying porta-potties, hauling equipment, coming up with ideas for cool gear, leading runs, imparting knowledge or best of all, making us laugh.

It still amazes me to this day that so many people from different regions, backgrounds, professions and beliefs can all rally around one vehicle and have such a great time together. It kind of makes me wonder if we'd achieve world peace if everyone in the world owned an FJ.

OK, perhaps that's taking it a little too far.

But for me, Surf N Turf was the best way to wrap up the wheeling season. Great people, great spirits and great fun. Hope y'all had as much fun as I did!

Until Surf N Turf 2009...

BTW...did I mention I dig cypilk's video? 20+ views and counting!

Hmm WEll the WIND kind of put a dmaper on things

Its a bummer to cuz I was going to make banana chocolate chip pancakes on Sunday morning. But I did not want to have the xtra sand in them!! This was a year to remember for sure.. Anthony had a bast!! The wife.....Had fun until the blowing sand got to her on Saturday night.. Needless to say I think she is done for the year camping wise.. Maybe even untill the baby get here..

I agree about the fact that we accomplished what we did.. Even the club guys sneerly asked me "how was the ride down?" I just told them everything was fine and it all worked out well.. May thanks to all for making it that way. Finding parking in SLo for the Burgers was interesting.. I thought it would be a lot harder getting everyone back together and on the road. But everything worked out just fine..

For some reason we seem to have a great group of people who enjoy wheeling together and we all have a lot of respect for everyone. I am really glad that you guys allow me to hang out and be silly!! Most people just beat me up and take my lunch money!!

Next for me its time for some kind of trailer.. For no other reason that I will be having another car seat in the FJ next year and as all of you know already I need more room for all the crap that I bring!! I have been looking at craigs list alot and maybe I will be able to get something soon..

Ok I am hopeful to hit some slops with you all this winter.. The family might want to come up one time to.. Get the kid some lessions and the wife said she will hang out..

Untill next time......
